Happy August

Kisses for GG!

This new perch wasn't quite as novel as she was envisioning.

Serious about carrying the dog bone basket (or "bom bones", as Emma calls them).

We like reading about Elmo and discussing the dinosaurs we feel should have been illustrated in with the story. "Dino! Dino?"

Um, gross. Seriously, Mom?

Semi-successful hiding spot.

Grandpa dozing with the baby crew. Emma loves putting her dolls down for "night night". She herself is far less interested in following suit.

Baby in bucket.

Mowing the lawn with a lawn mower ("mon mow" -- our new favorite thing to talk about and watch).

All 5 of our glorious teeth -- 4 front teeth and 1 lower molar. Hopefully we'll have a full set before we hit kindergarten.

Sampling a cookie from one of the (6 dozen) batches we baked to send Daddy. Overkill?

Her father's daughter -- doesn't like sweets but went after ranger cookies with a vengeance. Thanks for the recipe, Grammy!

Our first wall art. Almost too beautiful to scrub away!

Coloring station means serious business. Stickers are another favorite. We like stop sign stickers so we can say "Stop!" and put our hand up in a very crossing guard-like way.

"Standing! Standing!" Emma's verbal skills have taken off and she has mastered 2 syllable words and is starting in on sentences. Her first 2 are "Come on!" and "Get up!" -- she's certainly not demanding.

Standing in a chair was especially hilarious because she knew she was supposed to be sitting.

Mid-jump. We like to "jump" (our feet don't get off the ground yet but we sure try hard), pretend to be puppies and airplanes, and dance like there's no tomorrow. Move du jour is a graceful spin with ballerina hands.

Muffing up Zoey (who she hilariously calls "Donna" -- see video above).

She's no stranger to grabbing a hand, yanking it, and gruffly asserting, "Come on." The joys of a 1-year old :)
